Chester City Council is a District Council responsible for the delivery of a range of services to local residents, local businesses and visitors. With over 750 staff across a range of functions, the Council recognised the need to develop the culture of the Council. We were selected to develop a number of interventions in order to challenge managers to change the way they do things.

Working as the Business Transformation Partner, we designed and delivered a suite of development solutions on Best Practice Leadership & Management for first and second tier management. A Competence Framework for Managers was also developed to identify the behaviours which the Council wanted to foster and value.

Feedback to the Executive Team has enabled change to be made in the way managers are communicated to. There is now more involvement of the managers in the planning process and the use of resources is improving.
