Sumitomo Electrical Wiring Systems Europe is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Electric Industries. SEWS Europe is responsible for the design, manufacture and supply of fuse boxes and electronics, wiring harnesses and connectors to most of Europe’s leading motor manufacturers.

SEWS Europe was keen to develop internal trainers to support the future plans of the business and to satisfy the training and development needs for the Team Leader and Manager population of circa 600 across eight different countries. We designed and delivered an 11-module programme to meet the needs of the Team Leaders within each of the eight countries. We then helped to identify potential trainers in each of the eight countries and these trainers attended six five-day Trainer Training sessions at our training centre.

Sessions were spread over an eight month period to enable the trainers to deliver each of the modules back in their respective countries and feedback any further development needs. The various cultural differences had to be accounted for both in the design and translation of the programme and with the training of the SEWS trainers.
